Well here's a turn up for the books, I've just been asked if I will stand to be the next chairperson for the Parish Meeting, which is sort of a Parish Council but not quite.
Do I want the reponsibility? can I do it?
And of course the far more sobering reality, if there is ANYONE else standing who on earth would want to vote for me?
Could be interesting though, suppose this means I'd better turn up to Tuesdays meeting.

Crop Circles
Well I've been following this blog for a few days now, I find it fascinating that someone apparently painted a picture of crop circles back in 1913 and I intend to keep watching the site, and I'll post updates as and when they seem important. So far all he has is evidence of who the guy was, a few grainy pics and a couple of stories. And he's having the painting dated, that could be interesting.

New day, new costume
Those who know me know I've always liked spiderman, and now DS is continuing the "tradition" which gives me an excuse to start watching it again. Having said that, I'm not to sure what to make of his new costume at all.
I mean, is that a tail?
Maybe a trip to see my old muckers at Travelling Man. to see what's going on, I can take DS along for the trip (that's my cover story, and I'm sticking to it)
AllI know about this new costume is that it was designed by Tony Stark, Iron Man for those who don't know, and that Spiderman ate someone? and has been in a cocoon after dying! but he got better.

Bad day, no doughnut
Today is the unhappiest day of the year, explains a lot!
Here's the formula
([W + (D-d)] x TQ) ÷ (M x NA)
(W: weather, D: debt, d: money due in January pay, T: time elapsed since Christmas, Q: time since failed New Year's resolutions to quit smoking, drinking etc, M: general motivational levels, NA: the need to take action.)
And the inevitable link to the article.

Does your firewall spy on you
Zonealarm has been caught spying on you read more here and here. Trouble is I've been recomending this product to everyone for years, and now this comes out! It does NOT make me a happy bunny.
I'll find out more and come back to this later, in the meanwhile, should you stop using Zonealarm, well I'll leave that up to you, but I am switching to something else for MY windows machines.
UPDATE
For anyone who needs help with this the inquirer article mentions editing your hosts file, you can find it in the windows directory under something like \windows\system32\drivers\ect\ open the file with notepad and copy these two lines at the end of the file
# Block access to ZoneLabs Server
127.0.0.1 zonelabs.com
The \windows part of the file path will possibly be different on your machine, something like c:\windows or c:\winnt will be likely.

Confused
Things about the Welsh language always grab my attention as I spent my college years in Wrecsam, this take the biscuit though (but one day I'll admit to my getting lost secret)

First Musings
Well this is the day I start my blog, what do I write?
Today we went for a walk, I wanted to find a tree I remembered from over 20 years ago, an odd quest, but it was an odd tree, as you can see from these pictures with DS posing (I think I will refer to family as DS "Dear Son" DD "Dear Daughter" and DW "Dear Wife", it saves naming names)
If it helps scale the tree DS is 1.17 metres tall or 3'10" in old money.
I have no idea if this happened naturally or the trees grew together with help, but the image of these trees growing in a huge N shape stayed with me, I had to seek them/it out and get a picture of it, something I never thought to do 20 years ago. Now do I refer to them as one tree or two?
UPDATE
I've sharpened up the pictures
